About Basol Productions

Hello, my name is Bryan Alcantar. I am first and foremost an award-winning, video editor, director, and screenwriter. I have been working on video projects for the past 20 years. I am also the founder of Basol Productions. Where we specialize primarily in video editing because that is my biggest strength when it comes to filmmaking. Founded over 17 years ago in the year 2008. We have honed our filmmaking skills over the years and have filmed and done countless work. For the Catholic Diocese, Music Videos, Campaign Ads, Motivational Videos, Corporate Work, Schools and Universities. With all of our knowledge and background we have learned over the years we’ve come to realize that we can handle almost any project. Of course given the scope of the project and time allotted. I have also worked on many different film projects throughout the years. I have won numerous awards for my work and have had my work screened in movie theaters and film festivals all throughout the country. Most recently my short film The Lone Mariachi (2023), was selected to be included in the El Paso Film Festival. In high school I won 1st Place in the state of Texas and received all the awards given to a film in that category in the UIL Skills USA Competition. Which included 1st Place in the state of Texas, Judges Choice, and Superior Ribbons for my work. I also won 2nd place in the Rio Grande Film Festival for a co-production film I Am Sean (2015). It was a low budget film and we still managed to win. I have also studied film extensively while I was attending college at The University of North Texas. Where I majored in Digital Film Production/Media Arts. I am a UNT alumni and through my tenure there I was involved in many film projects and took Advanced Video Editing, Advanced Screenwriting, Film Theory, Audio Production, and Cinematography courses just to name a few. I also volunteered at the University of North Texas news channel NTTV for a semester where I would receive a daily run down. And would find footage through a CNN news portal and edit the footage and the introduction video for the entire broadcast. I also was an editor for the television program Empty Pockets (2018) for NTTV as well. I am also a co-founder for Latinos Matter where we have over 13,000 followers on X (Formerly Known As Twitter): @LatinosMatter.  But enough about my accolades and accomplishments let me give you my reasons for why I love this medium so much. Films & filmmaking are my passion in life. It’s what gets me out of bed every morning. It’s a way to express myself creatively through my work. It’s also fun to always be learning about new things when it comes to filmmaking. You can never learn enough. I feel as though I become immersed in the entire project. From Pre-Production to Production to Post. Finally seeing a project turn from the page to the screen. And being able to feel a sense of accomplishment is the reason I love to do this. To say, “Hey I made that.” To go back years from now and see something you made a long time ago. Gives you an appreciation for what it is you do. You are always growing and learning. You are constantly evolving. It’s a process. A journey. But even though you run into a roadblock. You keep pushing to complete the project. And see it through. I also have a passion for video editing as well. I have edited on multiple platforms from Final Cut 5 to Adobe Premiere Pro, to Final Cut X and Final Cut Express. I have been editing since I was a teenager in middle school. It is my one true passion in the filmmaking process. It’s like an adrenaline rush throughout the whole process but I just simply love to edit just about everything. It’s also like a thousand word puzzle and you’re trying to put all the right pieces together. So that is just a little bit about me. I hope you have a better understanding of who I am now. Filmmaking is my true passion in life. I believe in my talents and abilities that I’ve learned over the years that I ventured into starting my own business Basol Productions. Were we make, edit and plan all that goes into making a film. We are starting off by doing picture videos for weddings, quinceñras, funeral photo videos or just about anything you can think of. But we can also edit the footage for Short films, Political Ads, Commercials, music videos, you name it and we’ll edit it for you. So, feel free to explore the website and see my work. There will always be plenty more to come. Be sure to check back frequently for the latest updates. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
